Good design isn't taste. It's a set of rules.
Every graphic that works, from a Facebook ad to a product label, follows the same handful of principles. AI doesn't have eyes. It can't see what it makes. It puts the pieces together and hopes. Sometimes that's a mess, and sometimes it passes, which is worse, because that's the one you post. Once you know the principles, you'll see why a graphic isn't working, and you'll have the words to fix it yourself or to tell AI exactly what to change.
Start with the principlesI'm Lizzy.
I'm a graphic designer and ex-Google employee. Now I run two e-commerce brands of my own.
I'm on a mission to help other brand owners learn how to use AI to create graphics that convert, and aren't cringe.
I'm sick of seeing bad AI design. The tools can make a graphic in seconds, but they can't tell you if it's any good. That part is design, and it's a skill anyone can learn. The designer John Maeda has a good way of putting it: art asks questions, design answers them. What is this, why should I care, what do I do next.
The Rules that Guide Design
Same graphic. Better design.

BeforeAfterHover to see the afterCajun Buffet
Six things shouting, five typefaces and no serving hours. Rebuilt around one hero image and the three facts a guest needs: what, when, how much.

BeforeAfterHover to see the afterFiesta Taco Night
Fake distressed texture, four type styles and filler copy. Rebuilt with one headline that carries the whole sign.

BeforeAfterHover to see the afterDining Guide
Horseshoes, rope borders, a boot, a hat and a football. Rebuilt as a clean grid: find the meal, then scan across.
Real signs I photographed over a Labor Day weekend away, next to my rebuilds. The rebuilds are unsolicited concepts, not commissioned by the venue.
Mini Design School
A short, self-paced course for brand owners. Learn the eight principles behind every graphic that sells, then learn how to make AI follow them. No design background needed.

From people who’ve learned with me.
Completely blown me away
"I had a lot of my operations running on old tech that I thought was efficient. Learning how to implement AI agents for my store has completely blown me away. We're on track to reduce our operational costs by 30% or more in the first month."
A gift, and a free one
"The free lessons have kept me continually learning, which is a gift, and a free one at that! I'm getting a lot better output for my design requests and I'm not embarrassed to create branded assets anymore."
So glad I started here
"I was new to ecommerce when I came across Lizzy on Instagram, and it helped me realize how much easier it has become to start out as a solopreneur. I'm so glad I learned how to leverage AI from the start with this new business, and I'm forever grateful for that."
